"What's the level?"
Moira Edmunds, Angus Council
Moira is a 5-14 Support tutor working for Angus
Council team. This talk will be similar in content
to that of last year but will take account of any
further developments.

New French materials for P6/7:
Ian Boffey/Kathleen Hughes, GCC
An early opportunity to become familiar with the
new structured teaching programme/materials for
P6/7 being created by the GCC development team .

"From language to languages":
John Fergusson, Languages consultant
John is currently working on the integration of
school language policies.
This talk will examine bridging the gap between
English and other languages and include some practical
advice on developing activities suitable for different
stages.

Developing language skills through
storytelling: Mary Margaret McPake
Mary Margaret is a trained Primary teacher currently
working as a peripatetic ML specialist at various
stages in Primary and also developing 5-14 French
teaching materials .

Margaret Hay, Angus Council
Margaret is a 5-14 Support tutor working for Angus
Council team. This talk/workshop looking at German
materials and activities will be similar in content
to that of last year but will take account of any
further developments.

Italian activities for 5-14 classroom:
Silvia Cairns
Silvia is currently working as a peripatetic ML
specialist in 2 local authorities
and is also developing 5-14 teaching materials in
Italian.

"Balancing the 4 skills":
Kayren McDiarmid, Quality Development Service,
North Lanarkshire Council
Kayren will use this session to demonstrate
how the 4 skills can be developed from the same
resources/stimulus materials.

Assessment is for Learning - Liz
Scott
Liz teaches French in both Primary and Secondary
and has been seconded to LTS on a part time basis
with the "Assessment is for Learning Programme,
Project 4: Gathering and interpreting evidence of
attainment in 5-14, Modern Languages. " She
will talk about some findings from the projects,
but for the practical part of the workshop has asked
that potential participants can identify one or
two pupils working at different levels, gather examples
of their work in any or all modes (not just writing)
over the period between now and 5 June, make a note
of how it was produced (e.g. level of support, time
etc) and bring these along for discussion on the
day.
