SALT would like to thank the various sponsors of the competition for their generous and continuing support. This year, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we were able to give out an all-time record of £1,274 in prizes.

On a personal note, this was my last year as competition convenor. I would like to record my gratitude to the members of the SALT Executive, past and present, who have helped me through acting as judges for the poster competition over the years, and in particular John Fergusson, Sheila Hayes, Marie McCarney and Abi Adam. I would also like to thank all the teachers who have taken the trouble to send letters thanking me and my fellow judges for the work we do in making this competition such a success, and something which has such a positive motivational effect on pupils and students of all ages and linguistic abilities.

Good luck to all the entrants in the years to come!
